State Of The Housing Market

It’s been a wild real estate market in the southeast valley of Arizona; Chandler, Ahwatukee, Gilbert, Queen Creek, Maricopa, over the past several years.

As A Home Buyer, right now is a very good time to buy a house. Prices are at 2004 levels, there’s a huge selection, interest rates are low, and sellers are willing to negotiate. And if you are a First Time Home Buyer, you could qualify for a $8000 Federal Tax credit!

As A Home Seller, if you have some equity in your house, it could be a good time to sell and get more house (for less) when you buy in this market. On the other hand, if you owe more on your mortgage than your house is worth, and you can no longer afford to pay your mortgage payment, there are options to foreclosure; Loan Modification or Short Sale.
